About NIHSAD-Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility (SAIF)

The National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research is a premier institute of India for research on exotic and emerging pathogens of animals. The institute has contributed significantly by detecting many animal diseases of exotic origin and preventing them from entering our country. The bio-containment laboratory of ICAR-NIHSAD has been operational continuously since year 1998 for handling exotic/emerging animal diseases, providing rapid diagnosis and conducting basic and applied research on emerging animal pathogens.

Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility (SAIF) of NIHSAD offers major analytical instruments which are operated and maintained by a dedicated and qualified group of Scientists, Technical officers and Engineers. It operates with an "open access policy", benefiting various stake holders and users who are in need of such facilities.
